Akhshik awarded 2019 NASA FINESST Graduate Fellowship

Mohammad Akhshik, a PhD student in the UConn Department of Physics working with Prof. Whitaker, was awarded a 2019 Future Investigators in NASA Earth and Space Science and Technology (FINESST) Graduate Fellowship. His research project, "REQUIEM2D: REsolving QUIEscent Magnified Galaxies with 2D Grism Spectroscopy", will use new data from the Hubble Space Telescope to study the inner cores of massive red and dead galaxies that quenched when the universe was only a few billion years old.
